If your stores made a lower CPC than the indicated categories in which the site is active, let us know and we’ll investigate. In terms of traffic monetization, there are two other items to highlight:
- We are piloting a program that gives merchants the ability to upload their own SKUs. There is a fee per SKU per month charged to the merchant but then no CPC is assessed. This is a win-win for the advertiser and the domain owner due to a predictable arrangement. Advertisers can pay a higher rate to be featured on the home page.
- During Q4, we will rollout Dropshipping across a range of product categories. A trial is currently in progress with a live portal. We are also investigating the feasibility of using EpikBucks as a currency for enabling consumers to be able to purchases dropship goods. Stay tuned.
Last but not least we are gearing up for the all-important year-end holiday shopping period, which starts around October 15 and winds down by December 15. Now is the time to be building sites in order to be well-positioned for the 2010 year-end holiday period. Keep in mind that the typical leadtime to get a site ranked organically is 30-45 days.

@Tom – CPC rates bounce around. A few months ago, adapters paid big-time and now not so much. Computers and Electronics is going to be more volatile than fashion and jewelry.

It appears that software is one of the stronger categories. However, if I compare the cpc’s above with software cpc’s on Goog, $.42 seems pretty low.
Can you fill in the blanks for me here? By the way, do the “stores” above sell enterprise solutions or only consumer type software?

@Mark – These CPCs are a little different than a Google CPC. A visitor to an online store may browse 3-5 items, each of which is a paid click that gets launched into a new window. With a Goog click, the visitor is often gone.
Regarding the conference. Is there a discount for an additional attendee from the same company?
@Terry – Yes, when registering use the “Spouse” option. We obvious use the term “Spouse” loosely. So, register the second person that way and it still counts like a full registration for both attendees but is a small fraction of the full registration. It is not quite a two-fer, but close!

This is great news. I would think the drop shipping and SKU will pay much more than the CPC for both us and Epik. Can you say how or who will be contacting those merchants to let them know about the new program? Also on the dropshipping does Epik have any criteria on what sites will qualify for the program?
