How to add 2-factor authentication in cPanel

cPanel supports Google Authenticator, FreeOTP, and similar TOTP-based applications.

1. Login to your cPanel account.

2. In the Security section, click Two-Factor Authentication.

3. In the Two-Factor Authentication page, click Set Up Two-Factor Authentication.

4. You’ll be given a screen with a custom QR code. In your Authenticator app, scan the QR code – this will add a tab to your code window with the hosting server number and cPanel username. If you don’t have a QR code on your device, you can also set it up manually with the username and key. Input the 6-digit code from your app and click Configure Two-Factor Authentication to save.

A success message will come up. Your two-factor authentication is now set up, and you’ll be required to input it when logging in through the server or domain.
